The last easily observable tertiary eclipse took place 4 years ago, 9 to 11 August 2015. Coverage was patchy, but we detected events which was a significant success in itself.

Left: Ground based data from Crimea (first data) and Mexico (second) detected the dips, although they come earlier than expected (line). It might look as though the dips fail to line up in time as well as strength, but this is an artefact of the rather odd behaviour they show according to the exact geometry of the binary and the background star. e.g. the first dip from Crimea occurs at quadrature which is exactly right. |
